Evernote exports never worked out well enough for me and its availability is better. The article's notes about pricing are very outdated and ought to be fixed.
The features are not and the imports i've tried were all kinda crap. I would love to see a cloud based, or at least google drive based notetaking system that allows for the same level of organization that evernote does, but have not found anything really good.
I am giving up using Evernote for my primary usage of handwriting seminar notes with an Apple pencil on an iPad, because it frustratingly lacks the basic functionality of auto-saving the notes to the device while use are using it. You must manually press "Done" to save and then reopen your note page periodically, otherwise if you are idle for a while and your iPad goes to sleep or is turned off, you lose everything you have input since the last manual save. Read the first paragraph to pricing.
Not factual. There is basic, plus and premium. Do try Zoho Notebook i found it top notch, very user friendly, very secure it imported all my Evernote notes with ease.
Uhh, I don't agree with everything. I have been using Evernote since I tried many others but Evernote with google keep and google task together with making everything better. In addition, the 'history' that allows you to see all the changes with the day like GitHub is super amazing. I have no idea why your iPhone lagging and crashed but it not happened to everyone.
I'm using android os. Also, to use 'search' in the write way add tags to all you note and search according to tags really helpful.
Third, how come you judge a software based on its free version! About markdown yes I want it as well if you follow Evernote on YouTube they did it, just wait for next update. Like h1 to h6 and the font, lines, and everything. This app for everyone needs so if you need a specific feature you need to wait and give feedback to support. Fourth, the app support passcode and finger security feature, while on the laptop it's supposed to be a personal computer and you can lock it.
Do you share your laptop with your family!! I didn't understand the purpose to lock a specific note, while you can protect the whole app. Finally, Microsoft OneNote is totally not worth it, other than not easy to use and a bit complicated for me , it's not made to write notes on it - of course, I gave it 2-month try. No room for comparing. I respect everyone opinion and his preference to select the right app for him.
But the way describes it is annoying. Pricing has always been an issue for Evernote. But the company always struggled with converting and monetizing those users—the free version was just too good. After years of different monetization strategies that included partnerships with Post-it Notes and Moleskine, Evernote got back to basics in when they overhauled their pricing and started charging customers for the value they used.
